Dear Arif
I hope you are doing fine. I received your letter yesterday. In the letter, you wanted to know about Zahir Raihan. Let me start by telling you that Zahir Raihan was a great freedom fighter and filmmaker. He has directed many great movies since the Liberation War. As Zahir Raihan participated in the liberation war, he knew exactly what happened and what to show to people.
His films portray the brutality of the West Pakistanis, alongside the massacres in different parts of the world at different times- starting from Vietnam and Germany to India and Bangladesh. His sole purpose was to show the cruelty the Pakistanis were doing to the Bangladeshi people. His movies allow the young generation to see what led to the death of thousands of people during the war and why we should respect our country and independence.
At last, I would like to suggest you watch his ‘Jibon Theke Neya’ and ‘Stop Genocide’.
