Once an old woman used to take care of some hens. She lived on the money she had by selling the eggs laid by them. One of the hens was most dear to her because that hen gave an egg every morning. So, the old lady…………….. 

A Greedy Woman and Her Hen Story

Once an old woman used to take care of some hens. She lived on the money she had by selling the eggs laid by them. One of the hens was most dear to her because that hen gave an egg every morning. So, the old lady took much more care of that hen. She gave it more food. Once the old woman thought that the hen might give two eggs daily if her food was doubled. Then she would get more money. Thinking so, she doubled her food. The extra food did not have any effect on the hen as was expected by the old woman. It continued to lay an egg daily as before. But things worsened as it became fat and, therefore, began to lay an egg after every two days. Finally, it became very fat and stopped laying any eggs. At this, the old woman began to cry out slapping her forehead, and said, “Alas! I have lost everything to get more money.”
